Gary has been working in the Stockner family business since he was a young boy. He has developed from a summer helper to the head of all Landscaping Operations. Gary is very involved in all aspects of our business, especially the production of our crews and commercial and residential sales. Due to his hard work and determination, Stockner’s Nursery has built strong relationships with the leading general contractors and home builders in the Richmond area and abroad. He has played a key role in the growth of our company and continues to seek new opportunities and markets. Gary has received his certification from the NCMA for interlocking retaining walls, as well as his Class A Contractor’s License.

Lonnie joined the Stockner’s team in August of 2008. He has management, sales and estimating experience in several different construction fields. Lonnie graduated from Longwood University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He has since passed his Class A Contractor’s Exam and is certified by the ICPI, the governing body for interlocking pavers. Lonnie manages all aspects of the construction division on a day-to-day basis from the office and works with closely with all field managers & employees.

Eric has over 8 years of experience in the green industry and brings a wide range of knowledge from lawn maintenance to hardscaping. Eric received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Radford University, holds a Commercial Pesticide Applicators license and recently passed the ICPI course. He believes a strong work ethic and excellent customer relationships play a key role in the success of our company.

Ric is a seasoned landscape professional with over 25 years of experience in landscape design and installation. He has worked in all aspects of the landscaping field, with extensive experience as a principal landscape designer, landscape foreman and maintenance supervisor of large estate gardens. He has broad construction capabilities including plant installations, carpentry, masonry work and water features. He specializes in creating and implementing original designs for residential projects. He studied Landscape Architecture at the University of Wisconsin and has been a certified member of the Virginia Society of Landscape Designers since 2007.

With over thirty years of experience in the Landscape Design/Build industry, Bruce Clay brings top notch creative design skills to provide both residential and commercial customers with unique plans to meet their individual needs. He has been associated with some of the top companies in the country and before joining the Stockner's team, Bruce worked for over a decade with a leading national home builder. He holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Degree from Michigan State University (1984), as well as a degree in Business Administration. In his time off, Bruce enjoys reading, civil war relic hunting and browsing antique stores with his wife. He has two grown sons.

Bo Wells brings over 22 years of experience to the Stockner's Nursery team that includes but is not limited to commercial and residential landscaping, hardscaping, drainage, grading and more. Bo had a 15 year working relationship with one of the best landscape architects in Richmond of which he worked on several large projects to include several area country clubs, The Science Museum of Richmond, Stuart Siegal Center and many others. Bo is ICPI certified for installing concrete paver's and continues to attend seminars and courses to stay up to date in the hardscaping industry. Bo and his crews take pride in their work and are committed to proper installation of landscape/hardscape products and customer satisfaction.

George recently joined Stockner's after working as both a Branch Manager & Accounts Manager over the last decade. He is an Admin Graduate of JMU from the class of 1998. George is 3A and 3B Certified and takes great pride in providing exceptional customer service. He believes solid relationships and accountability are the keys to success in the Grounds Industry.

Dean has been working with Stockner’s full-time since 2003, but has been involved with its operations pretty much all of his life, doing odds and ends around the greenhouses as a youngster. His education includes Horticulture, Floriculture and Advanced Landscape Design and Construction classes, as well as seminars and short courses through Virginia Tech. Dean holds a Certified Pesticide Applicators License.

Dave joined the Stockner's team in Feburary of 2011 and brings with him 20+ years of experience as Account Manager and Commercial Manager. He has managed several award winning properties in the area, the latest being, The Hamptons at Hunton Park which was awarded the R.A.M.A.'s - Best Landscaping and Curb Appeal for 2011. He holds a Certified Pesticide Applicators License and continually attends seminars to stay abreast of industry advancements. Dave is excited to be a part of a team that is dedicated to providing quality maintenance and great customer service.

Joe has been working with Stockner’s full-time since 2005, but has been in the industry for over 19 years. Living in the rural county of Louisa, he is well known and respected for his knowledge of the green industry, customer service and quality of landscaping services performed. He has gained the same from the customers he has acquired around the Tri-Cities area since joining the Stockner’s team. He also plays a major role in the purchasing, maintenance and repairs of our company equipment & vehicles. Joe holds a Certified Pesticide Applicators License and continues to attend seminars and short courses to stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.

Mark joined Stockner's this July and has been in the green industry for the last seven years. Mark received a degree in Landscaping and Turfgrass Management from Virginia Tech and holds a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicators License. Mark specializes in turfgrass management and is in charge of the fertilization programs here at Stockner's. Mark believes that taking pride in your work and providing excellent customer service is the basis for success.

Renee joined the company in July of 2008. She has over 10 years of managerial, marketing/sales, customer service, financial and administrative experience. Renee holds a current Virginia Pesticide Registered Technician License. She attends seminars, classes and even works in the field occasionally in order to further her knowledge of our services. Renee spends her spare time doing charity work and supporting valuable causes. She is also a District Activist for the National MS Society and plays a vital role in the community service projects for the company

Tammy Richardson has recently joined the Stockner's Team and brings with her over 20 years of administrative expertise. She holds a notary certification, and has been a notary for almost five years. She has spent the last four years of her administrative career in the green industry, and has been able contribute a great deal to Stockner's Nursery since her arrival. Tammy is currently the administrator for the grounds management and irrigation service division and maintains positive business relationships with all of our vendors and customers. She is very excited to be an integral part of the Stockner's Team, and looks forward to contributing to the growing company.

Eddie Thompson is a past attendee of both Mount Olive College & ECU and has worked in the irrigation and green industry for over 25 years. Although he also has residential and commercial irrigation experience, Eddie spent thirteen years in NC managing golf course irrigation installations in NC, SC & VA. He has since been in Virginia working in management/sales of irrigation and joined the Stockner's Team in May of 2011.
Eddie has completed various business classes & seminars on management, design and service through The Toro Company, STI University, Hunter, Rainbird and also pump schools. Between this and his field work, he has gained extensive knowledge & experience in the design, sales and installation of even the most complex kinds of irrigation systems. He enjoys developing relationships with clients while providing them with the best possible irrigation design, installation & service

Keith Mason, our Irrigation Service Manager joined the Stockner's Nursery in June of 2011. He has brought with him 17 years of experience in landscaping, irrigation, and management as well as multiple certifications pertaining to Irrigation, Water Pumps and Water Pump Systems, Lighting, Drainage, and he is a Class B State Contractor. Keith is highly recognized for his abilities to trouble shoot, design & install complex irrigation systems and execute innovative landscape designs. Keith prides himself on being highly involved in all aspects of our company and researching the latest technologies to assure the best results and professional quality service.

Lauryn also joined the Stockner’s team in August of 2008 and has been working within the green industry for over five years. Lauryn graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University and is VNLA certified. She has an extensive background in management, retail sales and purchasing.

Mike Walthew brings 25 years of experience with him from the green industry from within the Richmond market. Mike has spent time in many aspects of the industry including retail & wholesale, as well as growing annuals, perennials and woody plants. Mike plays a large part in building the wholesale side of the business. Mike takes pride in keeping things organized, working hard but doing everything he can to joke & have fun along the way. Daniel was raised in the industry, and has worked full-time for Stockner's from 1999 to 2002 and from 2005 to the present. He received a BS in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing, from Chowan College in 1999. His knowledge and experience of the green industry comes from three generations of "how to do" and "how not to do" training. Through all of his experience growing up in the industry, Daniel believes our team and our customers have proven to be our greatest assets. He continues to assert the values of quality, hard work, and excellent customer service, and feels these are key components to Stockner's Nursery's success.

Meredith has been with the company since February of 2007. She graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a BA in Criminal Justice, and also holds a Registered Nurse Diploma and License. Although Meredith has no formal education in the green industry, she has found her previous educational opportunities to be a great asset in helping to build the infrastructure of the company. She identifies a key goal of the company as making sure that Stockner’s employees are proud to be a part of the team, and feels this plays a big part in being able to provide quality professional services at an excellent value. Meredith actively attends seminars to stay updated on administrative strategies and human resource regulations.

Amber joined the company in August of 2008 and has found Stockner’s Nursery to be a great opportunity to grow as a person. With her interest in an administrative career, Amber has been able to expand her skills in dealing with our employees, customers and vendors. She finds that advocating for our employees has helped to build company morale, and her strive for excellence as an interdepartmental liaison has helped to improve the day to day operations of the business. Joan has joined the Stockner’s team and has been making waves since July 2011! With her extensive background in office administration and accounting, she has made her place with Stockner’s as an HR Coordinator. Joan has over 20 years of experience in commercial and residential construction. She currently lives in the Goochland area.
